No i wouldn't reccommend this for kids under 10. It takes a bit of skill to fly and it's deceivingly fast. When you crash at full throttle yes your gonna do some damage.. I've repaired mine several times but it was nobody's fault but my own. It is great fun to watch it fly. Since you can't swap out the battery and keep flying we bring along another plane or RC car to entertain us while it's charging..talk to anybody who flies RC planes regularly and they will tell you they spend as much time patching and fixing as they do flying..so save your packing foam,i've used it to replace a broken nose piece..wrong color but who cares !
